Entering the blue series

Hi Friends,

I wanted to share a little update with you all because I’m feeling really excited about where I am creatively right now.

For those of you who have been following my work closely, you know I’ve been working on a body of work I titled The Red Series. That series became the first chapter of a larger project I call Reclaiming. Now, I’m beginning the second chapter of that journey with a new body of work: The Blue Series. While the red series explored one emotional space, this new work moves into something very different, and it feels really special to finally share the beginning of this next chapter with you.

Over the past three days, I’ve made three new paintings for the blue series, and honestly, I’m already in love with them. They feel deeply personal, very intuitive, and I feel really connected to them in a way that’s hard to fully explain. There’s something about this series that already feels different to me.

While working on these paintings, I wasn’t necessarily thinking about one specific thing or trying to force meaning into the work. That’s usually not how I paint. I tend to work more from feeling and instinct than from a fixed idea. I’ve really just been letting myself go, not holding anything back, and allowing the process to lead me wherever it wants to go.

These new works feel very gestural, layered, emotional, and free. There’s softness in some moments and intensity in others. A lot of movement, release, and trust. I’ve been completely locked into a creative flow these past few days and it’s honestly been such a good feeling.

I wanted to share some behind-the-scenes images with you all first because you’re getting an early look into the beginning stages of this new body of work before I share much publicly.

Thank you for being here and for supporting the work in such a real way. I’m really excited to continue sharing this process with you all as the series develops.

– Cassandra
